External accessories (monitor, webcam, docking station, etc.) or storage devices may interrupt your Chromebook's boot process. Disconnect any accessories or devices (sticks, SD cards, etc.) from your Chromebook and try turning it on again.
If your Chromebook has a removable battery, removing and reinserting the battery may cause it to no longer power off during use. Make sure the battery compartment is clean and free of dust, dirt, or any other material that could interfere with the battery connection. Also, use a clean, dry cloth to wipe any dirt from the metal contacts on the battery.
