Google Chrome will soon let you compare products across multiple tabs. Dubbed ‘Tab compare’, the AI-powered tool looks set to simplify the process of comparing different products while shopping online.

Tab compare uses AI to pull product information such as specifications, features, price, and reviews from the websites you have open in different tabs. The same is then compiled into a table where you can make comparisons and get AI summary suggestions – all from a single tab.
The feature will roll out first in the US in the coming weeks. If it works as intended and the comparisons are indeed comprehensive, it could make comparing products online a lot easier. No more jumping between tabs to compare features. Of course, it would mean even less traffic for indie publishers and websites. But that’s the AI world we live in.
Initially, the Tab Comparison Table will be able to handle 10 items, which is only a minor limitation for now. A Google spokesperson told The Verge:
