The Cisco SG300-28 switch has the default cisco password. The password is case sensitive, so it must be entered exactly that way: do not use capital letters. Along with this password, it uses the default cisco username to log in with administrator privileges, just like most Cisco devices.

To use this switch for administrative purposes, use the default IP address 192.168.1.254. Enter this into the navigation bar of a web browser where URLs are displayed.

It is important to secure all managed network hardware by changing the default credentials. If you do not do this, anyone with network access can gain administrative privileges. If you have taken this step, the above information will not work.

However, if you don't remember what you changed the password to, you can reset the password to factory defaults to recover the Cisco username and password.
