A 2021 lawsuit filed against former Riot Games CEO Nicolo Laurent was dismissed today, with the case's arbitrator declaring the claims of sexual harassment and gender discrimination "without merit."

An update on the lawsuit was shared by Riot on May 7, with the company saying it is “deeply grateful that facts have finally prevailed.” The statement also reiterated Riot’s stance on harassment and discrimination, saying neither has a place at the company or within the ranks of its employees. “It is also important to note that we will not tolerate malicious accusations against the company or individual rioters, and we will fight them with the utmost vigor,” the company’s press team wrote.
Laurent shared a short message on X (formerly Twitter) shortly after the announcement, saying he was "relieved this is over" and that he would now evaluate his next steps. "Not only has this opportunistic lawsuit had a negative impact on Riot and our teams, it has also caused Nicolo's family great pain," the company wrote, adding that it would support Laurent and any "potential legal action" he might take.
The lawsuit's outcome is consistent with Riot's third-party investigation into its original claim that former executive assistant Sharon O'Donnell was wrongfully fired in 2020 and that Laurent made sexual advances and comments toward her during her tenure at the company. O'Donnell also sued for medical expenses, lost wages and other damages she suffered while employed by the company.
