Clicky keyboards are all the rage. They look cool, sound great, and are a lot of fun to use. But they’re often too high, can aggravate repetitive strain injuries, and many aren’t as well-made as you’d like.

Mechanical keyboards come in a few basic types, but they all have springy keys that travel much more than the keys on a modern laptop. This springy action, along with a positive click that lets you know when a keystroke has been registered, makes them very pleasant to use.
I love them. I've owned or reviewed many, and I still keep a few under the couch. But I rarely take them out anymore because they're just too painful.
