Call of Duty developers have once again limited the weapon pool for MW3 Ranked Play and updated their list of no-no weapons from the release of Season 3. Fans are uncertain whether the growth of this list is healthy or actually detrimental to the game; while a large portion of the community is in favor of the update, a significant portion of the community finds it problematic.
5 PRO TIPS to UPGRADE your COD SKILL! (RANKED PLAY MW3)
Maintaining balance and competitive fairness in Ranked is a major commitment from the Call of Duty developers. As the premier mode to test your mettle against the best and see where you stand, it is imperative that there are no exploits, cheats, or unfair advantages present. However, some of the overpowered weapons available to every player are perhaps the biggest issue when it comes to fair and fun gameplay in Ranked.
This has led to the developers further limiting the weapons available to all players, removing the HRM-9, RAM-9, WSP-Swarm, Holger 556, MTZ 556, and the BP50. Some of these weapons are fan favorites, but while some are happy to see the WSP-Swarm go, others disagree that limiting choice is the right idea.
Reddit user Leananddopamine said: "Swarm is finally gone, now that those bots are also in Ranked." The comment received over 60 updoots from the community, indicating agreement with the removal of the ultralight SMG from Ranked.
