All it would take to finally force gamers to upgrade to the next-gen version is a sequel that has apparently been in the works for 10 years.
PLAYING COLLEGE FOOTBALL 25 FOR THE FIRST TIME!
College Football 25 has been a runaway success on consoles around the world, but it’s proving to be a tried-and-true system hit, at least for the Xbox Series S. Gamers, who are only now finding out that the long-awaited sequel is a next-gen exclusive, are buying the latest Xbox in droves.
For some gamers, the only thing they play is sports games. And with the last American football game coming out in 2013, some apparently haven’t upgraded from the previous generation of consoles until now, after finding out that CFB 25 isn’t available on Xbox One or PlayStation 4.
As Twitter/X user @Welfare_JBP noted, the Xbox Series S is seeing a huge spike in interest on Wal-Mart’s website, with the site alone showing over 1,000 consoles “purchased since yesterday.” Amazon is showing something similar, as illustrated in the image above, with the Xbox Series X “frequently purchased together” with CFB 25 and an extra controller.
