Your next TV could be one from Amazon, as the tech giant is reportedly launching its own TV brand later this year.
Amazon TV lets you buy Amazon TVs…
As Insider reported on Thursday, the Amazon-branded TVs will be ready as early as next month, just in time for the start of the holiday shopping season. While the TVs will carry the Amazon name, they’re still being designed and manufactured by a third-party company, specifically TCL.
Alexa will of course be a feature built into the TVs, so you can ask the voice assistant to turn up the volume, change the channel, or find a movie to watch. Engadget notes that it's unclear whether the Amazon TVs will run the company's Fire TV software, but here's hoping they will so that Amazon device compatibility is seamless.
The only other known specs for the TVs are that they will come in sizes ranging from 55 to 75 inches. However, there's no indication of how much they will cost or whether the TVs will be smart, have internet access or interactive features.
