Award Winning Underwater Photographer – Steve Rosenberg with Teach Me to Dive
An ocean photography competition showcases photos from around the world that show the amazing work underwater photographers can do with only a limited amount of equipment.
Gaetano Dario Gargiulo took up diving and photography as a hobby, but his winning image reveals the hidden colours beneath the waves of the pools of Kamay Botany Bay National Park near his home in New South Wales, Australia.
"If you're just starting out, it's best to start with an action camera or even your cell phone," Gargiulo, winner of Best of Show in the Ocean Art Underwater Photo Competition, advised in an email to Lifewire. "You have to be a good diver first. With good diving skills, you'll develop the need for a better tool to capture what you see."
