“I feel like we’re definitely going to win,” Phony told Dot Esports ahead of the Split One Playoffs in Los Angeles. He also assured us that every other player at LAN feels the exact same way, giving us a glimpse into the mindset of these competitors. Phony’s rise through the Apex ranks has been steady, with him making a name for himself on several smaller teams and in lower-level competitions like Esports Arena’s now-defunct Series E. But as his results continued to improve, so did his status, from being on one of North America’s top free agent teams in Dublin to representing Esports Arena at LAN, where Phony said he realized he truly belonged and could win at Apex’s highest level.
