Media company Content Partners has launched a new division, Content Partners Capital, focused on providing private capital solutions for companies and intellectual property assets in the entertainment industry.

Investment banking executive Alphonse Lordo has joined Content Partners as head of the new division that will oversee the origination and portfolio management of private credit opportunities. CPC will focus on IP-heavy business models in film, TV and music and will invest under a variety of credit structures to meet a company’s capital needs. The division previously provided debt financing to Media Capital Technologies in support of its film slate transaction with Lionsgate.

Content Partners is best known as the owner of Revolution Studios, co-owner of the “CSI” television franchise and rights holder to films such as “13 Going on 30,” “Black Hawk Down,” “Black Swan” and more. Content Partners owns more than 500 films, approximately 3,000 hours of television and a library of titles that has generated more than $33 billion in box office revenue worldwide.

The company describes the launch of the Content Partners Capital division as a “natural evolution” that leverages Content Partners’ “decades of experience investing in the content sector” at “a pivotal time in the entertainment industry with a unique combination of capital and strategic partnership.”
