Apple introduced widgets with iOS 14, allowing users to jump directly to their favorite section within an app of their choice from the Home Screen. With iOS 16, widgets get a much-needed update as you can now add them to your phone’s Lock Screen as well, allowing you to see weather, battery, date, events, and other information with just a glance at the Lock Screen, without having to unlock your device.

Lock screen widgets are available for Apple’s own apps now, but we may see more widgets in the future as developers adopt Apple’s WidgetKit API for their apps on iOS. That said, here’s a list of widgets you can add to your iPhone’s lock screen in iOS 16.
