For anyone who played Coral Island at launch, the “Work in Progress” signs that appeared at key story points left a bad impression. But with the July 22 update, titled “1.1 Finale Land and Sea,” Stairway Games may have set in motion the tropical farming sim’s redemption arc.
Finding Gort's Memories!! – New 1.1 Patch Content!! – Coral Island (Full Release)
The headliner feature of the Coral Island update is the addition of the missing story parts at launch. You can now enter the Savannah region, concluding the Giant storyline. On the Merfolk side of things, you can finally engage them in conversation, befriend them with heart events, and best of all, rebuild the Merfolk Kingdom.
For romance lovers, the hangout mechanic is now fully baked into Coral Island's dating system. Twice a week, you can "now ask your favorite dateable NPC to hang out with them at a location of your choosing to earn some relationship points."
Starlet Town is also getting a bunch of makeovers, depending on your town rank progress of course, with new buildable attractions. The patch adds Rank S unlockables for Town, Attraction, Heritage, and Museum. One of the highlighted new attractions is the Recreation Center, similar to Stardew Valley's Community Center, where Townies will adjust their schedules and hang out once it's built.
