Gives you more control over your system and content
Set up your own RTMP server to receive and redistribute live streaming video
Most live streaming tools and sites are free to the public, but often require you to create an account and provide information that you may not want to appear online. They may hide some content behind ads and include confusing Terms of Service that they may not even adhere to.
There are people who enjoy the ability to live stream, but don’t feel the need to make their videos available to the masses. Instead, they would rather have more control over their stream and the content they produce. Open-source software, such as Linux, is the best answer to this obstacle.
Before you start setting up your own personal streaming server, you need to ask yourself a few questions. First, what quality of stream are you looking for? Second, how many viewers do you expect to attract? Where will you store all of your streamed content? Who will have access to that content?
