Is Crunchyroll Ultimate Fan Worth $15 a Month?
Crunchyroll announced in a press release today a new perk for its Mega and Ultimate premium subscriptions: “unlimited access to an ever-expanding library of mobile games.” The Crunchyroll Game Vault promises exclusive games, starting with a few games to get the service off the ground.
The first batch of titles included in the new Crunchyroll Game Vault are River City Girls, inbento, Wolfstride, Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump Dimensions, and Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery. The games are free to higher-tier premium subscribers and are ad-free.
Crunchyroll offers three premium subscription levels: Fan, Mega Fan, and Ultimate Fan. The Fan level subscription does not come with access to the Crunchyroll Game Vault. That’s reserved for the Mega and Ultimate tiers, which cost $9.99 and $14.99 per month, respectively. In addition to the gaming aspect of those higher tiers, Mega and Ultimate subscribers also have access to over 24,000 hours of anime content that streams across multiple devices, can be viewed offline, and offers discounts on merchandise. Fan level subscribers are limited to streaming on a single device with no additional benefits.
