Counter-Strike 2 has had its ups and downs since its launch last September. The most common issue for players has been and continues to be cheating and a lack of anti-cheat. However, players believe cheating is not the only problem and have cited many other “real issues” in a recent Reddit thread.
This CS Pro has been BANNED for cheating
The thread, posted on April 22, contained a long and extensive list of issues that have plagued CS2 for months. The original poster, blairxv, cited interpolation (dying when you can’t see an enemy, missing shots or hitting when they shouldn’t), a broken economy with the MR12 system, and general clarity as the major issues, aside from cheating. Valve has taken steps to fix some of these issues, most notably the interpolation side of things with major networking updates. The company also attempted to address clarity by adding a new cl_bob option, though that hasn’t proven to be the solution for many players.
Players in the comments agreed with the issues raised and had a few more of their own to add to the list. One of the top comments stated that trust in the game has been completely destroyed by cheaters. The player base no longer believes in anti-cheat and will become frustrated and turn on legitimate players because no one really knows if the other party is using software. This is a side effect of rampant cheating and can be very detrimental to the health of the game. Another player stated that the overall performance of the game is lacking with frame times often being worse than VALORANT, which they claimed was the worst in this regard.
User VariousDegreesOfNerd took it a step further by saying that Premier "just sucks" right now. The system's random Elo rankings are very poorly designed, the player believes, and pit highly skilled players against players who are new to the game. Many in the thread are telling others to switch to Faceit for the time being, which some have already done, even though Valve's intention with Premier was to unify the player base.
