Despite its release in September 2023, Counter-Strike 2 hasn’t changed much since then and is still missing many key features. Recently, players have been discussing how disappointed they are that Valve still hasn’t added a single simple feature to the game.
m0nesy finds the CS2 bugs
A player asked in a Reddit post on April 17th how it is possible that there is still no option to host private 5v5 lobbies in CS2. At this point, it is nearly impossible to just create a private lobby, despite it being a standard option in many other multiplayer games like League of Legends. It turns out that many other players are just as clueless and "disbelieving" as the OP.
“I tried playing privately with friends but it didn’t work at all. We couldn’t believe this wasn’t an option,” one player wrote in the comments. Another pointed out that only Valve can answer this question, but given the company’s lack of a community manager and the company’s reluctance to engage with players, we’re unlikely to get an answer anytime soon. “All you can do is cross your fingers and hope it gets added soon,” they said.
Private lobbies are among the dozens of features missing from CS2. Over the past few months, the community has been discussing the game's poor state on a near-daily basis, and players are understandably frustrated. Many community members have become increasingly dismissive of CS2's lack of meaningful updates and requested features, with the top comment reading, "The technology isn't there yet [I'm afraid]."
