Jingles, dongles, bish bash bosh: CS2’s Armory update brought an all-new type of cosmetic, a quintuple battle pass, and, as you might expect, XP farmers on the servers. Annoying? Yes, but some players have found an advantage nonetheless.

DID WE MISS ALL THIS IN CS2'S ARMORY UPDATE?! (ANIMATION UPGRADES)

Counter-Strike 2 now has a new look, with the introduction of the Armory Pass. With it, players will get a brand new cosmetic type to collect in the form of Charms. These are small pendants that you can attach to your weapons, from small guns to sausage men.

Less surprising, however, is the impact their addition – and that of the brand new Battle Pass, which lets you play five at once – has had on the community servers and the less competitive game modes, with players and bots looking for ways to rack up as much XP as possible in as little time as possible. Should you instead want to actually play the game, you’ll find yourself kicked off the server.

An October 4 thread on the GlobalOffensive subreddit titled “So casual is pretty much dead now” aptly explains the issue, with the author noting that they “tried to join multiple casual matches today, but both teams would run to the middle and just use utility to kill everyone. Every time I joined, I would go a different direction and get kicked out almost immediately.” A day later, players have found even more inventive ways to farm, from coordinating knife fights in Deathmatch mode to doing some seriously offensive stuff with everyone’s favorite box of bullets, the P90.
