Like Salt-N-Pepa, Dag Johan Haugerud wants to talk about sex.

"If you always show it as something dark and dangerous … then that's just wrong. I wanted to show sex as something normal and ordinary, something that doesn't have to feel threatening or just be about spicy images. It's a part of everyday life," the Norwegian director tells Variety.

In “Love,” a sequel to the award-winning “Sex” and a second part of the trilogy that ends with “Dreams,” his characters continue to search for connection. They also reveal what they really want and share their most intimate secrets. “Love” will have its world premiere in the most important competition in Venice.

"We should talk more about physical attraction and all those sensations. Otherwise, and also because of the way it is portrayed in the media, many young people will simply continue to associate sex with violence," he says.
