The brief catastrophe that Helldivers 2 faced amid Sony's push to mandate PSN logins had an unexpected result: the game was removed from over 150 countries and territories that don't support PlayStation Network. And even days after Sony backtracked, the game remains unavailable in said regions.

Helldivers 2 – What Made Sony Backslide

As it stands, Helldivers 2 is unavailable for purchase in countries and territories that don't support Sony's PlayStation Network. The exact reasons behind the alleged removal from regional storefronts are unclear, though it's likely Valve made the move on its own until things stabilized. However, it's been days since Sony announced that it would be moving forward with its decision to require PSN logins for Helldivers 2 players. And while the game's reputation and review scores have improved, citizens of over 150 countries are still unable to purchase the game and experience what made it so great in the first place.

According to SteamDB, as of today, May 8th, Helldivers 2 is not available for purchase in exactly 174 countries and territories. This includes some overseas territories of the UK, Norway, and France, as well as numerous European countries. It appears that a few European Union member states that were previously out of PSN’s reach are excluded from this sweeping removal. There has been no official news or statement from Arrowhead, Valve, or Sony regarding this change or when it will be rolled back.

For those in these areas and countries who already purchased the game prior to the controversy and subsequent removal, there is at least some good news. You can still play the game in your region and should not experience any restrictions along the way. However, for newcomers from most of the world, you will have to wait until the higher-ups make a new decision and put the game back on your regional store.
