The Xenomorph is one of the many Dead by Daylight Killers that have emerged from collaborations, but has been in the background for a while now. Players are now debating whether it could use a buff or change to make it more viable and fun to play.

The Xenomorph may not see you in its tunnels, but make no mistake, it knows where you are 👁️

The discussion raged on in an August 11 Reddit thread that attracted over a hundred players to offer their thoughts on the Xenomorph’s current state. One user suggested that the Killer doesn’t need any sort of rebalancing, instead saying that it could use a “nice change,” such as an option to switch between crawling on all fours and standing upright. “I find it more fun to tower over the survivors,” they added. Another user said that the Xenomorph’s original chase music was much better than what we got, particularly given the nod to the Nostromo ship from the Alien films.

Other users in the thread generally noted how the turret system, which is meant to counter the Xenomorph’s tunneling, often makes the gameplay loop quite frustrating. The turrets distract from the Killer, and can be quite insulting at times with the right Survivor comp that knows where and how to use them. “Turrets feel so oppressive,” another wrote, adding how they “take all of the focus away from pursuits.” If the turrets were toned down (or the Xenomorph buffed), combined with more stealth mechanics, this Killer might just find a place in the sun.

As it stands, it can be a pretty fun Killer to play, especially compared to some of the others. The existing mechanics, through the use of tunnels and perks that show where Survivors are above ground, are really fantastic, although there are a few things missing from the base kit that could potentially be improved a bit.
