Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has always made a point of partnering with popular horror franchises, particularly those in the slasher subgenre. With so many released in the game’s nearly decade-long lifespan, players are now discussing which popular horror IP they’d like to see added next.

Dead by Daylight's Toxic Community

One such discussion takes place in a Reddit thread from July 28, where the original poster made a collage of potential collaborations between Dead by Daylight and popular horror (and pop culture) franchises. They named numerous prominent examples, including Friday the 13th, Five Nights at Freddy's, and IT, but also threw in a few non-horror (at least in the traditional sense) options like Bioshock.

One collab that people commenting on the thread were particularly interested in is The Thing, with one player suggesting that RJ MacReady (the series protagonist) should appear as a Survivor. Others suggested that the Killer could potentially start out as the Malamute dog and then be able to transform into a Survivor once they take a hit. There could then be something “off” about the transformation to make it clear that this isn’t your normal Survivor. This would drastically change how Dead by Daylight plays, so it could perhaps be part of a separate, limited-time event like the recently released 2v8 mode.

Another collab that players generally agreed on was Outlast, which would see Miles from the original game appear as a Survivor. One player explained that Outlast isn’t a big enough franchise to warrant multiple characters (like a Survivor-Killer combo), though it’s not too far-fetched to imagine Behaviour dropping Miles and Chris Walker (one of the antagonists from the first game), for example. There are plenty of options in Outlast 2 and the Whistleblower DLC, too, that the developer could choose from.
