Organizers of Desert Daze have confirmed that the four-day music festival in Lake Perris, California, has been canceled due to rising production costs. The independent festival, originally scheduled for October 10, 11, 12 and 13, was set to feature acts including Jack White, Fleet Foxes, Mars Volta, Cigarettes After Sex, Liz Phair and Thundercat.

“As an independent festival, an increasingly rare phenomenon in today’s festival market, Desert Daze is run by a small team of people who love live music and this community,” a Desert Daze spokesperson wrote in a statement. “Unfortunately, due to rising production costs and the current volatile festival market, it is no longer possible to operate the weekend as planned.”

All pass holders will be refunded and contacted directly through their point of purchase. (All Desert Daze Presents shows are proceeding as scheduled.)

“Desert Daze is more than a festival or a business venture for us,” said Desert Daze co-founder Phil Pirrone. “The community we’ve built together means so much to us and is the reason we’re going to work on a way to keep this beautiful thing going for many years to come.”
