Hunters are the kings of damage in Destiny 2 post-The Final Shape, thanks in large part to a deadly synergy between the new Still Hunt sniper and the old Celestial Nighthawk Exotic. But Bungie is reducing that combo’s power by 25 percent in early August, it announced today.
Wow… Destiny 2 just got hit with MAJOR nerfs that shocked players…
The developers have their eyes set on Still Hunt, though according to today's blog post, they've focused the nerf on the synergy between the two Exotic pieces. This will reduce the damage of Still Hunt's Golden Gun bullet by 25 percent when combined with Celestial Nighthawk.
Hunters dominate the damage calculations in Destiny 2, and Still Hunt is glued to the Energy slots of countless Guardians, even if they’re not using the dodging class. The weapon itself should remain largely unchanged if you’re a Warlock or Titan, but Hunters will feel noticeably different.
“While Hunters have the potential for some thematic ties between Celestial Nighthawk, Golden Gun, and Still Hunt, this should help to somewhat narrow the damage disparity between each class (and between what should be viable weapon alternatives),” the blog post reads.
