It’s a new expansion in Destiny 2. You grind powerful drops on your main, hoping to have at least one weapon in every slot to shorten the grind on alts. If you’ve been playing for a while, you’ve encountered this scenario, but it will be a thing of the past after The Final Shape.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape is coming out in 5 days!
Destiny 2 will take all of your characters' levels into account at once when the next expansion launches, Bungie confirmed in a blog post today. It's a drastic change in a sea of adjustments to how Power will work in The Final Shape and beyond.
"Starting in The Final Shape, the gear rewards you earn on each character will decrease by one Power level from the highest Powered character on your account," the post reads. Players will be able to grind Power level on one character and pick up where they left off once they switch guardians.
Starting with the current expansion, Destiny 2 calculates your max Power based on the highest level you can reach for each character. Since Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters have different armor pieces, grinding your first character should give a slight boost to your alts, since they can all equip higher-level weapons.
