With the release of The Final Shape and its shiny new subclass of Prismatic, many will be jumping right in to experiment with all the crazy building possibilities it offers. However, the tutorial post on how to use the Transcendence ability (the most important part of the whole thing) only appears briefly and is easy to miss. If you did, don’t worry, we’ll explain how to do it right here.

How I Reached Max Light in 1 Week – Destiny 2: The Final Form

Transcendence is the new charged resource that comes with the new Prismatic subclass. Equipping it grants you a big boost to your grenade and melee boosts, which is useful on its own, but it also allows you to take on the new Prismatic enemy types. Good news for us Guardians, Transcendence is tracked separately from your normal supers, and is fueled by using a combination of light (Solar and Arc) and dark (Stasis and Strand) damage types.

To activate Transcendence, you either press 'B' if you're playing on mouse and keyboard, or press L3+R3 simultaneously if you're playing on a controller. On mouse and keyboard you can rebind it to your liking, but if you're using a controller you're unfortunately stuck with what they give you. There are several control layouts to choose from, but due to the nature of controllers, none of them change the transcendence ability button combination.

Your other abilities remain the same in Transcendence mode, with your grenade, melee, and class ability all retaining their normal inputs. However, they'll be super buffed and have a very fast refresh rate, so you'll be using those key binds a lot more.
