Destiny 2: The Final Shape could very well be the best expansion in the game's history if the current momentum of both player investment and sentiment continues.

On PlayStation, Destiny 2 saw a whopping 86 percent increase in players with the launch of The Final Shape, according to a report from TrueTrophies. That's a lot of players hitting the court, but what's perhaps more impressive is that they've remained engaged so far.
The Final Shape launched on June 4, and a surge in players for a major DLC is nothing new. But what’s more impressive is that the following week saw only a 0.45 percent drop in players, a “rare” feat, the report said.
“Most games, including longer games and live service titles, typically lose a significant portion of their new active player base in that second week,” the report said.
