The finale of Destiny 2's The Final Shape is one of the franchise's biggest moments, and players will get a chance to relive it with an increased challenge. Excision is getting a Grandmaster version next week, Bungie confirmed today, with an increased difficulty and more rewards.
HOW TO CHANGE THE CAMPAIGN DIFFICULTY LEVEL IN DESTINY 2 THE FINAL SHAPE
Grandmaster Excision "[is] going to be incredibly difficult, but the reward for completing it will be completely worth it," Bungie said in a blog post today. The challenge will be available to anyone who has completed the base version of the campaign starting June 18.
Excision concludes The Final Shape storyline, which also concludes the Light and Dark saga that has been going on since the original Destiny. The activity is the final confrontation with the Witness, following the Salvation's Edge raid.
Since it's an echo of the raid, the mission uses mechanics similar to the Witness encounter in the fifth (and final) encounter. Salvation's Edge had the longest raid race so far, narrowly beating out Last Wish. It took the first team around 19 hours to complete the raid, with hours between the first and second completions.
