Destiny 2's ritual activities have often felt like three separate realms, but Bungie's new Pathfinder system aims to bring more cohesion between them with The Final Shape. The developer detailed how the system will work in a blog post today, highlighting the Pathfinder ritual activity systems and the new Destiny.
Pathfinder will transform ritual activities in Destiny 2 The Final Shape
Today’s This Week in Destiny blog post detailed the new Pathfinder system in more detail. It’s intended to consolidate the Destiny 2 experience, giving players more agency, elevating decision-making, and reducing barriers to entry, the blog post said. In practice, this translates into a series of interconnected objectives, though the diminishing options may push players toward other activities or playstyles if they want to complete their Pathfinder track.
The Pathfinder node will be available within the Pale Heart and will serve as a consolidated place for all ritual activities, with different goals for each. It will allow you to reset your “map” multiple times per week, though they will get a fresh slate once the weekly reset rolls around. Progress appears to be shared account-wide.
Both types of Pathfinder have 20 objectives spread across five levels, with the final levels offering fewer options. Clearing the final level grants players the largest rewards for that week, with diminishing returns until the weekly reset. You only need to complete one objective in each level to progress.
