Destiny 2’s Onslaught PvE defense mode has been a huge hit with the community and is a great way to prepare fans for the highly anticipated Final Shape expansion. However, some players have been leaving before reaching wave 50, and Bungie wants to address that.

I entered an Onslaught competition…

The Bungie team has outlined how they’ll be offering additional incentives for players to stay through all 50 rounds. In a game mode that can easily take you an hour from start to finish, it’s understandable why some Destiny 2 players might get frustrated seeing their teammates fall before they’re ready. Hopefully, these upcoming incentives will be enough to get a full team to make it to the finish line without anyone dropping out.

Bungie’s plan to address those who drop after wave 10 is to offer more weapon rewards and they’re buffing Trophies of Bravery drops in Onslaught. Whenever Destiny 2 players complete a wave, they’ll get an additional weapon drop at the end. The weapon rewards increase with each wave they complete, and then there’s a guaranteed weapon drop when they reach wave 50. On top of these two major reward changes, the team is also adding a bonus weapon to drop after completing wave 50, giving players two weapons for reaching the finish line.

We've followed up on feedback that there should be better incentives to stay in Onslaught for the full 50 waves, so that teammates don't drop out after wave 10. We're adding two additional weapon rewards to Onslaught and improving Trophies of Bravery drops to address this issue. (1 of 8)
