The controversy surrounding Palworld as a "Pokémon clone" was huge when the game was released earlier this year, but Nintendo doesn't appear to have done anything about it according to Palworld's developers.

In an interview with GameFile, producer Takuro Mizobe addressed the controversy surrounding plagiarism allegations from fans of Nintendo's pocket monster franchise. Earlier this year, The Pokémon Company released a statement saying that they would "investigate and take appropriate action" against copyright infringement. However, according to Mizobe, the gaming giant has not taken any action against them.
“Nothing at all. Nintendo and the Pokémon Company didn’t tell us anything,” Mizobe said. “Of course I love Pokémon and I respect it. I grew up with it, in my generation.”
This interview comes just ahead of a major new Palworld update called Sakurajima, which will add new Pals and locations. The game’s developers are also currently teasing a PlayStation launch after success on PC and Xbox, while also ruling out a Nintendo Switch port due to the console’s technical limitations. On top of all of this, Palworld is still in Early Access and isn’t expected to release as a full game until next year, according to Mizobe.
