Disable Trackpad/Touchpad on Mac and PC
If you like using a mouse to get work done on your Mac or Windows laptop, you may find it helpful to disable the trackpad or touchpad on your system. This is especially useful if you type a lot and the trackpad is in a place on your laptop that always picks up slight movements from your hand as you type.
It can be really annoying when you’re typing something and the cursor suddenly jumps to another part of the document! In this article, I’ll show you the different ways to disable the touchpad on OS X, Windows 7, and Windows 8.
If you're running the latest version of OS X and have a Bluetooth or USB mouse connected, you can set OS X to ignore the trackpad. To do this, go to System Preferences and click Accessibility.
