The Counter-Strike 2 community has slammed the organisers of the Skyesports Championship after a horrendous opening day that saw only one match played. Between technical issues, power outages, horribly unfair playing conditions and even a shock withdrawal, the future of the event is in jeopardy.

The Skyesports Championship kicked off in Mumbai on July 23rd and from the start it was clear that teams were in for a bumpy ride. Teams struggled to load CS2 on PCs as internet issues and outages continued throughout the day. Ultimately, the organisers had to pull the plug after just one best-of-one, postponing the matches until Wednesday.
But things went downhill for the struggling CS2 event. A series of clips from the event followed, including one shared by CIS CS2 News on X/Twitter, showing the poor state of the desks in use. This sentiment was echoed by Eternal Fire player XANTARES, who called the conditions and the event "a disgrace."
It was later revealed that the teams were using PCs with staggeringly different specs. "We were playing on completely crappy PCs, while other teams had perfectly good PCs. We had to play official games from our practice rooms: how can we play on these crappy PCs while other guys can play on the good PCs?" BetBoom player Nafany said during yesterday's HLTV Confirmed live taping. After hours of back and forth, BetBoom eventually pulled out of the event altogether and booked an early flight home.
