DJI has just updated one of its most popular consumer drones.
DJI Mini 4 PRO – The 1 Feature That Makes a HUGE Difference – How to Use Waypoints Like a PRO
After weeks of leaks, the company announced the Mini 4 Pro on Monday. The successor to last year's highly regarded Mini 3 Pro, DJI's latest drone sports a 48-megapixel 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor and a 24mm-equivalent f/1.7 aperture lens with an 82.1-degree field of view. That's the same sensor DJI shipped with the Mini 3 Pro, but the company has redesigned the Mini 4 Pro's imaging pipeline to expand the drone's imaging capabilities. In addition to 48-megapixel photos, the Mini 4 Pro can capture HDR video at up to 4K 60 frames per second and slow-motion 4K video at up to 100 frames per second.
These capabilities are complemented by an improved noise reduction algorithm that should improve the camera's low-light performance, as well as support for 10-bit logarithmic recording for those who want to colorize their footage. There's even a 'True Vertical Shooting' mode to simplify video production for social media.
At the same time, DJI has made the Mini 4 Pro easier to fly and avoid costly crashes. Where its predecessor had tri-directional obstacle detection, the Mini 4 Pro can detect hazards from all directions thanks to a network of wide-angle and downward vision sensors. DJI has also equipped the Mini 4 Pro with a suite of advanced Pilot Assistance Systems that allow the drone to automatically brake and avoid obstacles.
