Cloud-based simulation: process simulation collaboration
People use computers for all sorts of purposes. The computer you have at home can do all sorts of things. You can surf the web, play video games, and (unfortunately) do some work. The kind of work most of us do boils down to typing up documents or maybe messing around with a few Excel spreadsheets. You can even do a little bit of content creation, like video editing.
The average modern home computer can do all of these things to a greater or lesser extent. Then there are dedicated workstation computers. Professional machines used for everything from professional sound recording to advanced scientific and engineering simulations.
At the high end, these desktop workstations can cost tens of thousands of dollars. Sure, they will eventually pay for themselves through the work they do, but it can take a while – with a significant upfront cost.
