The release of this year’s iPhone has sent ripples through the smartphone industry. There are a ton of new features to love, but one that’s definitely taking the spotlight is Cinematic Mode. But what does Cinematic Mode do, and is it even available on the iPhone 13? Here’s everything we’re talking about.
Apple iPhone 13's Cinematic Mode Explained – Why You SHOULD Be Excited!
Cinematic Mode takes advantage of the newer A15 Bionic processor and advanced Neural Engines. This new camera setting combines a host of advanced filmmaking tools, including Dolby Vision HDR and Rack Focus, a technique that shifts the lens focus during continuous recording.
Racking focus is almost synonymous with professional filmmaking and is a staple for directors and videographers. With this feature, the iPhone's camera will lock focus on a subject in a scene and blur the background to achieve a natural depth of field. When the camera is moved or detects a different subject entering the frame, focus will automatically switch to the new subject, blurring the background accordingly to provide a high-quality depth of field.
