LiDar on iPhone stands for Light Detection and Ranging. Apple first introduced the LiDar scanner in the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max devices in 2020. Apple claimed that it helped with focusing during low-light photography, and the evidence backed up their claims.
