All eyes were on Dota 2's Patch 7.36c, which, in addition to balance updates, was supposed to see the release of Act Three of Crownfall. But instead of the new act, players were greeted last week with a new date for the content update: June 39.

The Dota 2 menu was updated on June 25 with Patch 7.36c, with the new date for Crownfall's The Frosts of Icewrack changed from "late June?" to a date that… doesn't actually exist. Check your calendars if you will, but the last time I checked, there was no June 31st, let alone nine extra days. Clearly, players won't be playing Act Three this month.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a delay in a Dota 2 release – Valve Time is a thing, after all. It’s also not the first time Valve has made a meme out of the delay, as one fan reminded us in a thread on the Dota 2 subreddit this week. Back in 2016, delaying the launch of the Battle Cup meant Valve missed its planned June launch entirely, so when it finally arrived in mid-July, Valve cheekily dated its blog post as June 45.
If that’s the case, then June 39th would be similar to July 9th, a notable date, as another fan pointed out. July 9th is the anniversary of Dota 2’s beta launch in 2013, and it’s possible that Valve delayed the update on purpose to coincide with the anniversary. Others even believe it’s the release for the long-rumored hero Ringmaster, which we first heard about almost a year ago.
