A massive explosion rocked the Fortnite island today, August 10th, leaving Redline Rig in ruins and revealing Pandora's Box. It's all because Dr. Doom sabotaged Megalo Don's plans to refuel his Leviathan ship, ending the Fallout collaboration and paving the way for the second Marvel collaboration season.

At the start of Fortnite’s Chapter Five, Season Three, Megalo Don’s Leviathan crashed south of the island, bringing the Wasteland theme into the season. The nitro-addicted antagonist’s intentions were clear: fuel the ship using the Redline Rig and tear through the island to set sail back onto the waves. Throughout the season, pipelines were constructed from the Redline Rig point of interest to Brutal Beachhead to refuel the ship leading into the live seasonal event.

There was one small problem with this perfect plan, however: the Wanderer. The mysterious, cloaked figure has been silently wandering around interesting locations, leading the community to speculate about his true intentions. A few players have suggested that it could be Doctor Doom, as Epic Games had placed Rift Beacons across the island as an easter egg teasing the upcoming Marvel-themed season. The live event confirmed that theory.

Just as fueling began in the live event, the event timer flashed to reveal the green-colored Wanderer logo, confirming the arrival of Doctor Doom in the following season. Doctor Doom stopped the fueling process, causing a chain explosion that led back to Redline Rig. When the dust settled, Pandora's Box emerged swimming in lava, leading players to believe that it would play a larger role in shaping the game's lore rather than simply remaining a prop in the Greek-themed season.
