The final stop on the road to the Esports World Cup has come and gone: DreamLeague Season 23 kicked off on Monday, May 20, and in addition to the usual million dollar prize pool, teams competed for a coveted spot in Riyadh.

Five Dota 2 teams—BetBoom, Liquid, Xtreme, Gaimin Gladiators, and Falcons—had already secured an invite to Saudi Arabia, meaning there were three spots left to be won. OG, Spirit, and Tundra were next in line to secure their qualifying spots, while HEROIC, Shopify Rebellion, and Aurora fell just outside the top eight.
