Working on a Mac is like a dance. You’re constantly collecting files, documents, or links. You save them here, drag them there, find new resources on the web. And eventually you hope to get it all together in an email attachment or a folder on a cloud drive.

As good as macOS Finder is (and you can tweak it to make it better), it doesn’t really help with this dance. This is where Dropover comes in and becomes the dance teacher you never really had.
Dropover is a shelf utility that’s a perfect companion to a research tool like GoodLinks. It acts as a bridge for your files, a safe haven between Finder and wherever you ultimately want your files or documents to end up. Maybe it’s an Outlook email you haven’t yet composed, or a WeTransfer upload you’re collecting photos for.
Once installed, Dropover lives in your menu bar. But the real way to access it is by using an intuitive mouse gesture. First, select some files, folders, links, or documents, then quickly shake your mouse, as you would to find it on the screen. A Dropover shelf will immediately appear. If you don’t like mouse gestures, you can use the keyboard combination Option + Shift + Spacebar to conjure up a new shelf. Option + Shift + A brings up a new shelf with items preloaded from the clipboard.
