Using a browser like Google Chrome has many advantages, including the ability to sync all of your information across all of your devices. But it also comes with the pitfall of being tracked for advertising purposes. DuckDuckGo aims to solve that.

You're using DuckDuckGo wrong!

The company announced on Wednesday that the DuckDuckGo web browser can now sync your passwords and bookmarks across all your devices. That means you can use the browser on any device (phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop) and still have access to all the information you need to surf the web seamlessly. And you can do all of this without having to log in to the browser.

"At DuckDuckGo, we don't track you; that's our privacy policy in a nutshell. We built our privacy-respecting import and sync features without requiring a DuckDuckGo account — and without putting your personal data at risk," wrote Tim Raybould, a member of the product team at DuckDuckGo, in the post announcing the update.

Here’s how it works. First, you get the DuckDuckGo browser on your devices. Then, you use the browser’s Sync & Backup feature, “Sync With Another Device,” to sync between two devices. It generates a QR code for mobile devices or an alphanumeric code for desktop computers. Once that code is entered, syncing happens automatically.
