DuckDuckGo has ended the waitlist for its Email Protection beta, opening the service to anyone who wants to try it out.

DuckDuckGo Email Security – What is it and how do you use it?

DuckDuckGo Email Security primarily acts as a filter of sorts for your emails, whether they come from preset addresses or a new @duck.com account. This filter combs through incoming emails for hidden trackers and then deletes them to better protect your privacy and security. While the beta was previously limited, requiring interested potential users to sign up for a waitlist, that barrier to entry has been removed. Now, anyone can sign up for the beta and see what they think.

In addition to removing trackers from emails, you can also use Email Protection to create an unlimited number of private emails that you can use when filling out forms, helping to prevent profiling. You can also create a personal @duck.com email address if you'd rather not associate it with anything else, but the service does let you manage all of your connected accounts from one place.

Since it’s still in beta, Email Protection is constantly evolving and changing. DuckDuckGo says that since its initial release, it has begun integrating its browsing encryption tools to protect against email link tracking and better detect and remove link trackers in general.
