A great way to organize your MP3s

Previously we talked about ripping and encoding CDs; here we explain how to make sure those files are tagged correctly. We do this with a program called EasyTAG.

But first, what exactly is tagging? ID3 tags are small pieces of text stored within the MP3 file itself. These tags allow a music player or portable device to show you the artist, album, song title, and even cover art. All of that information is stored within the MP3. Without tags, this is what you see:
