Why Do Film Distributors Have a Negative Reputation? – J. Horton
EXCLUSIVE: Eighteen-year-old Seattle actor and filmmaker Samuel L. Pierce and his newly formed production company Electric Shock Productions have signed a distribution deal with Random Media, headed by Eric Doctorow, the former president of Paramount, Fox, MGM and Miramax.
The deal follows the companies' previous collaboration on Pierce's comedy film The Get Rich Quick Scheme, which premiered at The Grand Cinema in Tacoma and opened in theaters. The film centers on three college students (led by Pierce in an acting role) who make a bet with their evil boss in order to succeed in the corporate world.
The deal will cover the upcoming sports drama Off The Line, a film about a determined young professional inline skater (played by Pierce) who is eager to make a name for himself in the sport at the prestigious 24-hour race European Grand Prix. The film will be released in the first quarter of next year via Random Media.
