Elgato has finally updated the Stream Deck, a special piece of hardware that adds a ton of features for livestreamers, podcasters, and other creatives.
Elgato's new Stream Deck POWER-UPS make streaming even easier
The Stream Deck+ has a row of assignable buttons, similar to the previous-generation Stream Deck, but adds four more buttons for making minor adjustments. There’s also an LED touch strip for navigating between pages of apps and activating certain features. Think of it as a larger, more useful version of Apple’s much-criticized Touch Bar.
The four knobs specialize in volume adjustments, EQ adjustments, camera zoom, and more. All of these adjustments are made on the fly while you stream, which is what makes these devices so popular. You can also assign a specific plugin to each knob to adjust other parameters, but there are currently only a handful of apps available that can be used this way.
As always, the eight large buttons have a wide range of functions, from starting audio clips to sending tweets and even adjusting local lighting. Most of these tools are tied to Elgato's own software, however.
