The EMEA Masters Summer Split 2024 will kick off with a few changes based on feedback from the League of Legends community. The tournament will start on July 31 and end on August 30. The tournament will coincide with the LEC Season Finals in Munich, a repeat of last year’s successful integration.
2023 EMEA Esports Ecosystem: Changes Explained
The most significant changes include an expanded roster of 60 participating teams and the introduction of a Swiss Stage, which adds depth and unpredictability to the competition. Riot has also made changes to the final distribution to ensure a “fairer” representation across all regions. Here’s everything you need to know about the format changes for the EMEA Masters Summer event.
In the new format, accredited ERLs will each receive six slots, with the top three teams gaining direct access to the Swiss Stage and the remaining three teams participating in the Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQ). Non-accredited ERLs will receive four slots, determined by recent EM event performances.
The Last Chance Qualifiers, taking place from July 31 to August 2, represent a final opportunity for teams to secure a spot in the main tournament.
