EOM is an abbreviation for "end of message." It's a quick and effective way to let a reader know that they've reached the end of the message and that there's nothing more. Using EOM is especially useful when sending emails.

Simply add EOM to the end of a topic, with or without brackets. Try to keep the total number of characters to less than 40 characters to ensure that the last three letters fit well.

If you add EOM to the end of an email subject line (and the recipient knows what it means), they won’t have to worry about opening the message to read anything in the body. EOM quickly explains that the entire message is in the subject line.

A relatively recent use of EOM was in ASCII, the computer language. Derived from Morse code, ASCII included EOM as a control character. Morse code for EOM is di-dah-di-dah-dit.
