Escape from Tarkov is a popular niche title that combines looting and exploration with incredible realism in an unforgiving first-person shooter. But the game’s latest iteration could give an unfair advantage to anyone willing to open their wallet.

Players have been complaining about the game's new 'pay-to-win' Unheard Edition, which gives users a hefty amount of extra gear and resources, an expanded inventory, a higher starting level of certain skills, more PMC bag space, more slots in the game's Flea Market, and better status at Fences.
The Unheard Edition will cost players a whopping $250 to buy themselves a huge jumpstart, compared to other players who only have the regular edition or the Edge of Darkness edition. If players were to purchase the Edge of Darkness edition, they would still have to pay around $80 to upgrade to the Unheard Edition.
In a game that requires players to grind and explore for weapons, resources, and character levels, this new edition has become a huge point of contention in the Tarkov community. One of the unique items that Unheard Edition owners will get access to, for example, is the Mark of the Unheard, which grants 50 percent off all cash-required in-game services, such as vehicle extractors.
