Apple’s new iPhone 12 is a pretty radical new device. It’s fast, it has an all-new MagSafe accessory system, and the cameras are just plain insane. And then there’s the new HomePod mini. Let’s take a look at the highlights.
Apple Event – October 30
Apple’s big message is “speed,” and it’s leaning heavily on its new 5G cellular connection to make that point. But 5G isn’t quite widespread enough to be useful yet, and there were plenty of other interesting features announced. The flat-panel design is great, but the real star here is the camera. It’s simply amazing.
"The engineering Apple has put into both the new iPhone cameras and the post/computational photography is nothing short of mind-boggling," said David 'Strobist' Hobby on Twitter.
There are four iPhone 12s: two regular and two Pro. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have the same 6.1-inch displays. The iPhone 12 mini is smaller, at 5.4-inches, and the iPhone Pro Max is larger, at 7.7-inches. The Pro iPhones 12 also have brighter displays. All of the iPhone 12s have the new flat-edge design, like the iPhone 4 and 5, and the latest iPads Pro and Air, and they all now feature OLED displays.
